Homework Assignment

In preparation for the World Bazaar in March, I am asking that all the girls do some research on the country we have been assigned.

Italy

What language do they speak?

What are Girl Scouts called there?

What foods do they like to eat?

What are some cool cities and places to visit?

They can bring this information with them to the January 27th meeting.

First Certification

The troop needs two adults to be First Aid Certified. So, we really need two parents to volunteer for this very important position.

The next First Aid Training provided by the Girl Scout Council will be:

Medic First Aid/CPR
1/14/12
8:30am - 4:30pm
Allentown, PA
$35

You can also find a local place for certification and take the course there.

Again, we really need two parents to become certified. So, if you can do it, please let me know as soon as possible.

Secret Pal Gift Exchange

At our last meeting, the girls picked their secret pal for the Holiday gift exchange.

We decided it would be fun to do a book gift exchange this year. Please wrap the gift and bring it to the Investiture Ceremony where the girls will give the gift to their Secret Pal.

If you have any questions about the exchange, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Daisy Uniform

The first time the girls can officially wear their tunics, will be at the Investiture Ceremony (12/16).

The following should be ironed on or placed on the tunic prior to the ceremony:
US Flag
Eastern Pennsylvania ID Set
Troop # 21870
Star Pin with blue backing
100th Anniversary Pin
Yellow Insignia Tab
Light Blue Petal (earned 10/28)
Orange Petal (earned 11/11)
Spring Green Petal (earned 12/2)
Yellow Petal (earned by Katerina, Ava, and Cianna ~ this petal is earned on an ongoing basis based on when they signed up to bring snacks for the troop)

Plus, on the back of the tunic, they should have their Juliette Low Birthday patch.

If you have any questions regarding the placement of any of the patches, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Meeting Three ~ December 2, 2011

At this meeting, the girls made winter mitten magnets.

The also prepared 2 large boxes of supplies for the two families we adopted. They had a great time making cards for the families and trying to pack everything into those boxes. The girls have earned their spring green petal for their participation today!

We discussed the upcoming Investiture Ceremony and they made invitations to take back home for their family.

At the end of the meeting, we talked about the Postcard Exchange which the girls are also very excited about. They were very happy to hear that we had confirmed exchanges with troops in 46 states. I will continue to contact troops in the other 4 states in the hopes of reaching our goal of exchanging with a troop in each state.

We closed the meeting with our Secret Pal name collection!

Next meeting will be the Investiture Ceremony on Friday, December 16, 2011.

After doing some research on pricing for some trays of baked ziti, I believe it would be more economical for me to make the trays of baked zit for the event. So, we will not be collecting money for this.
